Has anyone here had to do a factory reset on their computer, and successfully recovered their art files after?
I've been more or less dead to the world for the past week or two because after restarting my computer one day I was unable to login. Literally, the login screen would not come up. All it showed was a blue screen that allowed me to select my language, and then it showed me options for recovery.

I was unable to diagnose/solve any problems manually, and frankly, I don't have the kind of money to bring the pc in to see a professional.
So I tried to back everything up onto a blank DVD. Which more or less worked, except the computer after being reset won't let me extract the files from said backup discs :/
I've tried recovery software and while one has worked, every single file recovered is corrupted. I cannot open nor view them, and to make matters worse I could not even recover what mattered most to me. All of my most recent OC references and works in progress, as far as I know, are just gone.

Which is why I'm asking for advice/opinions, has this happened to any of you? Have you been able to recover any of your lost files, uncorrupted? If so what worked for you?

I've been very disconnected from most social media for the past... few months tbh
I haven't had the motivation to do much besides personal things, I've been neglecting things I owe people and honestly, it's not cool
I'm aware I have customs to finish, I will be buckling down to complete them all within the month. 

I plan to start pumping out new adopts as well, eventually, but for now, if at all, I'll be selling things I've had drawn for a while.
